President
The President is the presiding officer and official spokesperson of the PTSA. Facilitates all Executive Committee, Committee Chairs, and General meetings. Gathers input from Committee Chairs and prepares Agendas with the Secretary. Communicates regularly with the school Principal, staff, Board of Directors, and PTSA members as well as potential PTSA members. Participates in state PTA Council meetings. Delegates responsibility where appropriate to the VP.

VP of Communications
The VP of communications acts as the assistant to the President and presides at meetings in the absence of the president. Responsible for coordinating communication through various channels (newsletters, emails, social media, reader board, flyers, signs, website, etc.). Owns the PTSA account to hold virtual meetings. On occasion will help with scheduling guest speakers and for all general meetings, purchases door prizes. Takes on additional responsibilities as delegated by the President and/or stated in the Standing Rules.

VP of Operations
VP of Operations acts as the assistant to the President and presides at meetings in the absence of the president(s). Serves as the Executive Committee liaison with other major fundraising events. Responsible for scheduling room, table, and chair reservations for PTSA-sponsored activities. Takes on additional responsibilities as delegated by the President and/or stated in the Standing Rules.

Treasurer
The Treasurer is elected by members to be the authorized custodian to manage PTSA funds. Ensures all PTSA funds are promptly deposited into PTSA bank account(s), separate from funds of any other organization. Ensures appropriate insurance (liability insurance at a minimum) is purchased for the PTA. Keep accurate and detailed accounts of all funds received and disbursed. Responsible for paying all authorized financial obligations of the PTSA. Prepare and file the appropriate federal tax forms, incorporation report, and charitable organization report in a timely manner. Preserve all receipts, invoices, bank statements, cancelled checks, and other financial records. Submit and report on a detailed, written monthly financial report at every Board of Directors & General Meeting. Submit written reports by email to the board during months when no meetings are held. Work with the support of the President to create the proposed budget for the following year.

Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for taking minutes and recording all business at every PTSA meeting, including General meetings, Executive Committee meetings, and Board of Director meetings. Prepares minutes from previous meetings for review/approval at next meeting. Works with the President to plan meetings and create agenda's and informs President of unfinished business from previous meetings. Responsible for taking attendance at meetings to ensure quorum. Facilitates meetings in the event the President and Vice President are absent. Maintains roster of Board of Directors, ensuring all contact information is up to date. Keeps a current roster of members on hand during meetings. Maintains the copies of all documents for the official PTSA files.

5th Grade Party
This person/committee coordinates a party for the 5th graders who are graduating from Westhill and moving on to middle school next year.

After School Programs
Art, Spanish, Chess, Drama.... the sky's the limit, but we need someone to help make sure these programs continue! Duties include scheduling programs, coordinating with companies, ensure parent volunteer is present. Time Commitment: Moderate (monthly)

Art Docent Program
Our art docent program is a big deal- since the district does not fund art programs, its up to us. We are looking for that special someone (or two) to continue art for Westhill. Time Commitment: Heavy (weekly)

BINGO
Chair coordinates food, drinks, bingo sheets, daubers, etc to be sold. Leads a team of volunteers that help to procure prizes, sell concessions, etc.. Communicates with VP Operations to schedule event venue, ensure tables, chairs, and AV equipment are arranged. Volunteer team will help with prize wrapping, setup, cleanup, equipment and food sales.

Breakfast Program
Many children need breakfast in the morning. PTSA helps coordinate volunteers in the mornings to make sure students are nourished and ready for their day. Coordinator will work with calendars to make sure slots are filled daily. Time Commitment: Moderate

Community Engagement
This committee coordinates food, coin, sock, and clothing drives through Hope Link. This committee also purchases supplies quarterly to supplement the Northshore Community Kitchens Program which is a program that provides fresh produce weekly to people in need.

Display Cases & Signs
We have information to share! This person will help decorate our display cases and put up signs advertising events and school information. Time Commitment: Minimal

Fundraising
The fundraising committee plans and executes the main fundraiser. Depending on the event planned, the committee would work with vendors, solicit sponsorships, donations, coordinate food & drink, etc. Work with VP of Operations to ensure appropriate venue is reserved, advertise event to school and community, potentially order tshirt and other swag for participants or collect prizes for donation. Work with Board of Directors for other tasks necessary to run this large event. Westhill has previously held walk-a-thons, color runs, etc for this event. Time commitment: Heavy (up until a couple weeks after the event is over)

Kindergarten Liaison
Liaison will welcome new families and distribute school & PTSA information to Kindergarten families throughout the year. Organize summer “play dates” at the school for incoming students to meet and greet.

Legislation
Chair provides information of interest on children's health, safety, and education to Westhill PTSA members and the community. Also raises awareness about state legislative issues that affect children and families. Information is shared at General Membership meetings. Information may be gathered from the Washington State or National PTSA websites. Their websites must be referenced to use their articles in newsletters.

Membership
Works to sign up members to the PTSA and entering those members into the state website. Communication with parents and staff through flyers and newsletters as well as being there on curriculum night are important to this position.

People & Pastries
Chair arranges food and drinks to be brought in for these events. Communicates with VP Operations to ensure tables, chairs, and AV equipment (if necessary) are arranged. Volunteers will help with food/ drink distribution, set up and clean up. Time commitment: minimal (mainly around events; 2 events per year)

Readerboard
Information at the front of the school is key- this person will work with PTSA and the office staff to make sure information is current and on display. Time Commitment: Minimal

Reflections
Coordinates and promotes the pursuit of students' creative expression through the annual PTA Reflections Program. This program encourages students to create art inspired by a specific theme (selected annually by the State PTA from student theme idea submissions) in any of six art categories for fun and recognition. Responsibilities include: Communicating Rules, preparing the school’s entry form, managing entries & submission protocol, uploading entry data, and providing recognition to students. Time Commitment: Moderate (half year)

Room Parent Coordinator

Special Ed Liaison
The special education liaison attends meetings and provide the perspective of families with special needs students to the PTSA to help guide decisions and activities. Work to build community among families of kids with special needs within the school; encourage engagement/participation in school and PTSA events. Work with the principal, special ed staff, PTSA, Booster Clubs and student leadership to develop effective ways of communicating with special needs students and families. Be a liaison and collaborate with Westhill staff regarding issues that affect kids with special needs. This person is creative and passionate about improving the quality of education and the school experience for students with special needs.

Spiritwear
We love Westhill swag! This person will submit orders and help distribute to classrooms. Time Commitment: Moderate (every month)

Staff Appreciation
Coordinates and organizes the staff appreciation committee for lunches or activities for all Westhill staff, which occur on a monthly basis. Creates sign up sheets and advertises on social media, website, and newsletters. Time commitment: Moderate (monthly)

Staff Representative
Staff Representative is a Westhill staff member who supports PTSA’s connection with staff members by attending meetings, sharing information with staff and encouraging attendance at meetings/ events.

STEAM Night
Have an interest in science, math, and/or art? Our STEAM night is a popular one and we need help coordinating vendors, activities and classroom activities. Time Commitment: Moderate (mainly around event)

Threads & Treads Liaison
Coordinates with Threads & Treads program (NSD-wide program managed by Canyon Park PTSA). Collects clothing & shoe donations from the Westhill office and delivers to Canon Park as necessary.

Watch DOGS
Watch DOGS. (Dads Of Great Students) assists Westhill by providing support for the Watch DOGS program at Westhill. Representative will distribute information, schedule/coordinate volunteers, and give brief updates at PTSA meetings.

We Are Westhill
The We Are Westhill committee works closely with the school principal, PTSA President(s), and PTSA Vice President(s) to plan and execute a community event called "We Are Westhill".

Webmaster
Keeps the PTSA website updated with current information through the wordpress interface. Communicates with Board of Directors and Committee Chairs regularly to ensure their committee pages are up-to-date.
